To the Pennington family,I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. I went to high school with Chad and remember him as being a very sweet guy and funny. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to talk to him at the class reunion. He will be deeply missed and he is a hero in heaven.

JOHN GEGG
We have all lost someone close to us and we all deal with the pain differently.
Some fall and can not get up, for those we must pick them up.
Some fall and ask for help to get up,for those we must be there without hesitation.
Some stand strong and pray they don't fall, for them we must let them know that that if they fall we will be there to help pick them up.
Others fall then pick themselves up and dust themselves off only to fall again yet they continue to dust themselves off, for those we must let them know we are there to help
Then there are those who look to others for strength, for them we must show that it is okay to fall but we must get back up and continue for that is the best way I know to honor those who have gone before us.
Last but no less important those who hide that they have fallen, for those we must show them there is no shame in falling nor does it make them less in the eyes of others for we all fall at one time or another and friends and family will always be there even when you don't want them there.
And I believe that Chad was someone who always had his hand out to help those who needed it and as long as we are there to do the same for each other and those around us I believe he would be proud to call us family and friends.
yours truly with everlasting thoughts,
John Gegg

I've known Chad since I was 13 years old. We have had lots of laughs together. I know Chad to be a caring and sensitive man, whose family was the most important thing to him. I am very grateful that Chad and I had recently reunited after a very long time of not seeing each other. He will always be considered a very special person in my life and my heart, and I will deeply miss him.08/18/2010

JOHN DAVID PENNINGTON
Here is an old prayer that my witty history major brother may have appreciated:Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.
Rest well Chad, we'll see you again in a better place than here brother.
John
